Helping Beekman Homeowners Get Ready for Spring
3/3/2021 (Permalink)
Beekman residents are finally starting to gear up for a new season after a long, cold winter.
If you have a serious case of spring fever, you aren’t alone. As we welcome March, most of us are already dreaming of how we’re going to spend our weekends when it’s warmer and sunnier outside.
Now is a great time to start planning new projects, too. Whether you enjoy gardening, grilling or spending time outdoors, spring brings with it plenty of possibilities.
There’s no doubt spring is an enjoyable time of year, but like any season, it can bring specific hazards. Spring storms are something homeowners have to be prepared to handle and manage.
While we don’t have the ability to control when a storm hits, we can do things to ensure we’re prepared to weather one when it happens.
Prioritize These Important Home Projects
When you’re making your next home improvement to-do list, be sure these items have a spot on it:
Get rid of any tree branches and limbs hanging over your roof. Limbs and branches that hang over your roof create hazards during a storm. Winds can bring them down and cause damage. You can prevent this from happening by cutting them down.
Clean your gutters this (and every) season. Clean channels allow water to move around your home the correct way. Don’t let water backup up your home and cause water damage.
Look for issues with your roof. Be sure your roof doesn’t have any missing shingles. It would help if you were mindful of the signs of a leak, too.
Don’t let items around your home become hazards. Be sure your patio furniture or other similar things don’t become tools for the wind to damage your home.
If a fire, flood or any other cause damage to your home, you can always count on us for restoration assistance. We are available 24⁄7 in the event of an emergency. Contact us at any time to learn more about our restoration services and how we can help you.
